FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PATIENTS

Your initial consultation will take between 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the complexity of your case. We will be discussing your case through a thorough history taking, followed by a detailed physical examination. Any imaging studies (X-Rays, MRI, CT scans) will be reviewed on the first visit. We will give you our honest impression on your diagnosis, if we do not think that we can help you, or if our examination reveals any additional concerns, we will refer you appropriately to your regular general practitioner.

If deemed appropriate, treatment will begin immediately on the first visit. Your modesty will be preserved at all times and gowns are provided.

In the majority of cases, Chiropractors are well equipped to manage and treat common conditions of the musculoskeletal system (injuries sustained to muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints of the body).

However, many health problems can mimic disorders of the musculoskeletal system and, as such, it is our responsibility to comprehensively review your case. By first making an accurate diagnosis, we can be sure that we are able to provide you with the most appropriate management plan and treatment option for you.

Referrals are not mandatory. However, if you have been referred to us via a general practitioner or specialist, please bring the referral letter with you to your initial consultation.

Yes, we have electronic health fund rebates and Medicare Easyclaim facilities that allow you to pay for your consultation and claim your rebate immediately. We accept all major private health funds that cover Chiropractic services.

Please bear in mind that annual limits do apply and the amount that you are reimbursed will vary. Check with your health fund provider to find out the exact details of your coverage.

If you are referred by your general practitioner under the Chronic Disease Management plan (formerly Enhanced Primary Care or EPC), you will be able to claim a portion of your fees from Medicare (up to a maximum of 5 visits per year). You will need to talk to your GP about the appropriate referral.

In many cases, a course of treatment is needed to accumulate its effect and create a change. Generally speaking, the effects of treatment will be apparent around 2 to 6 sessions. However, this range will vary from each individual depending on the complexity and the chronicity of the condition. The exact timeframe of complete recovery is difficult to predict. A personalised management plan will ensure you are progressing in your recovery.

Please keep in mind that we do not keep accounts, so payment for all consultations are expected on the day.
